Victorian Writers' Centre

The Client
The VWC is a provider of resources, information and skills development for Victorian writers.

The Brief
The focus of the VWC in the last few years had broadened, previously presenting as a cash-strapped community organisation the new brand needed to represent the reality: a professional, easily accessible conduit through which writers can develop the potential for their own literary skills and navigate the literary sector.

The Solution
The new identity incorporates a notebook, the source or place where writers spontaneously jot things down, representing the portal-like quality of the centre. The website design is accessible, easy to navigate and manage with a content management system. Publications are uncluttered, readable and designed for staff to update easily in-house on a regular on-going basis.

The Outcome
“The new design and website is clear, friendly and accessible. As a result usage and return visits to the website have risen by at least 50%. A more user-friendly interface has resulted in a significant increase in bookings to VWC events, information requests and new memberships. We are extremely happy with the result."
Joel Becker CEO

Now part of The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas, the new brand has enabled the VWC to position themselves as a professional, first point of contact for people wishing to find information about the entire writing sector.
